Join us in Prayer this week...

Every Sunday we gather and pray as a church family.

The Vine is inviting you to pray with us during the week:

Devotional:

(Daily Praise from the Bible)

The concrete mixers rolled in and out of the lot throughout the day. Each deposited it’s load into the foundation of the new office building, then departed. Dozens of men worked to shape and structure the foundation. Finally, the huge concrete slab was in place. Tons of concrete provided the base for what would become a huge office complex. With a firm foundation in place, construction could begin.

We need to have a firm foundation before we structure our lives. If we set our hearts and minds on God, He will give us His strength; a strength which cannot be moved. God is the only real foundation. Anything else is a poor substitute.

-Lord, be my anchor and support. When the day gets rough, help me to remember that I am firmly established in your Spirit and in your love.

-Pray for our church family, that we will continue to return to a new & improved St. Peter’s.

-Pray for someone you know who could use God’s love right now.

-Thank God for His provision in your life; and ask Him for guidance on how to use it for Him.

-Pray for those on our Prayer List (list is below).

We pray with the whole church... the Prayer of the Day from Last Sunday's worship:

Benevolent God, you are the source, the guide, and the goal of our lives. Teach us to love what is worth loving, to reject what is offensive to you, and to treasure what is precious in your sight, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

The Vine….

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 (NIV)

The Vine is a Relational Caring Ministry including the following:

1) We utilize the current Prayer List maintained by Celeste Chamberlain. Vine volunteers will contact those individuals on the prayer list (by phone call and/or e-mail) with the following goals in mind: A) To ensure them that they are not forgotten, B) To see how they are doing, C) To see if they need anything that St. Peter’s can assist with, and D) To see if they would like to remain on the Prayer List.

2) Eucharistic Ministry – We would like to visit folks who cannot attend church for any reason; and administer communion if it is desired. This is not limited to those on the Prayer List; but to anyone.

3) We would like to form Prayer Teams made up of anywhere from 1 to several people who will commit to pray for those individuals on the Prayer List (or anyone who needs it). These teams can meet at St. Peter’s, at someone’s home, or anywhere they are comfortable.

4) We are currently looking for new volunteers to help out with all three areas, but our most immediate need is for Vine Volunteers who love to be in contact with others and would be willing to call people who are on the Prayer List.

5) For more information please contact Silvia Rotenbury.
