Sunday School

Sunday School for the 2021/2022 school year begins masked and in-person on Sunday, September 12th at 9:15am. Click here for a one-pager on our Sunday School program.

This is a new time change for Sunday School, as in previous years, Sunday School would begin mid-way through the 10am worship service. Moving SS to 9:15am will allow children to experience worship with their parents, allow our SS teachers to hear the sermon, and encourage fellowship for parents and others before worship begins.

There are two classes for our Sunday School program: our ‘littles’ - PreK through 2nd grade and our ‘bigs’ 3rd through 6th grades. Each class follows a different program with the Augsburg Faith Formation curriculum. Littles follow Sparkhouse Lectionary and new for this school year, (schedule and scripture references) our Bigs will be learning from the Connect series (scripture references). Sparkhouse Lectionary follows a Bible specifically geared towards younger children, while Connect dives a little deeper to connect to our tween students. We will have Service project, craft projects and just plain ‘ol fun activities sprinkled in throughout the year as well - check out the schedule here).

If you would like to volunteer to help lead a Sunday School class (it’s easy, we promise!), reach out to Stephanie Johnson for more information. All materials are provided and no experience necessary, though we do require a criminal background check and child abuse history report to be on file with the church office first (similar to surrounding school districts).

I’m interested in becoming a Sunday School Teacher at St. Peter’s!
