Movies, Conversation, Reformation, and CANDY!

Join us next weekend on Friday, October 28th and Sunday, October 30th for fun, celebration, conversation, and joy!

On Friday, October 28th we will be having a Movie Night at the church from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We will be watching Hotel Transylvania to get into the Halloween spirit and of course there will be plenty of snacks! Kids and adults alike are welcome to come in costume too. Along with this Movie Night we will also be hosting a roundtable discussion for parents which will focus on safe Internet and Social Media practices and safe use of technology for our families. We hope to see a lot of parents joining us for this important opportunity to discuss Tools To Keep Our Kids Safe. An RSVP is not necessary for this event but if you are certain you are interested in attending please let me know so that we can plan accordingly for both snacks and space.

On Sunday, October 30th we celebrate Reformation Sunday! This year marks the 499th anniversary of the Reformation and marks the beginning a year-long commemoration leading up to the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. This will be a global event. The Vatican and International Lutheran Council are working on a “Statement of Reconciliation” emphasizing what unites us, instead of what divides us. This is a year to be especially proud of our Lutheran heritage. You are invited to be a part of the celebration. There will be several events held within the coming year. St. Peter’s has existed for 264 of those 500 years! It’s time to celebrate so we hope to see you in worship as we celebrate and share in the life, love, and joy of Jesus Christ!

Following worship on October 30th we will hold our annual Treats in the Trunk in the church parking lot – so yes, you can give thanks for God’s grace and love AND get candy!!! Children and adults alike are invited to come to church in costume or bring them along for after the worship service. All those who would like to bring treats are invited to try and park in the rear of the parking lot (as able) – we hope to see many of our children and adults in costume and many others willing to share some treats and joy with all those in costume!

It will be an exciting, fun, and grace filled weekend (as always) at St. Peter’s next weekend and we hope to see many of you gathered to share the life, love, and joy of Jesus Christ with others through fun, fellowship, laughter, conversation, worship, and candy!
